there's a bunch of projects going on right now at the School of Nursing at UMDNJ, and if any of you can help (even if you're not a student) that would be super awesome! (: tis the season to give. so if you have some time and/or things to spare, and are from the northern NJ area, you should definitely get involved.
Thanksgiving Food Drive: all proceeds will go to the Apostle's House in Newark, NJ. collection in effect until November 24, 2009
Knit-a-Square: charity project to help make the abandoned children and AIDS orphans of Southern Africa warm. if you know how to knit, knit a few squares; if you want to learn to knit we'll be holding classes so you can participate; or if you have any knitting materials to donate (yarn, wool, needles, etc). activities and collections in effect until December 15, 2009
Adopt-a-Family: the SGA will be participating in a Christmas Dinner for several families at the Apostle's House. we will be serving a Christmas meal and providing gifts for each family. any food or gift donations will be accepted until December 9, 2009

Foundation for Peace: our class will be going to the impoverished areas of the Dominican Republic to volunteer at a couple of clinics and visiting houses throughout the community providing free healthcare. we will also be handing out "hygiene kits" to each family, which we are collecting toiletries, vitamins, and medicines for. all donations will be accepted until March 1, 2010
*all donations can be dropped off at the Stanley S. Bergen Building (65 Bergen St. Newark, NJ) on the 10th floor collection boxes or 11th floor CAS office.
