the book is a worthy read, which explains its status as a New York Times Bestseller. and with such an amazing cast (Dakota Fanning, Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys, and Queen Latifa), i'm anticipating the movie to be just as meritorious. p.s. ever notice how New York Times Bestsellers, or books in general, have been translated into movies lately? i.e. Nights in Rodanthe, The Kite Runner, No Country for Old Men, I Am Legend, The Notebook, The Devil Wears Prada, In Her Shoes, Love in the Time of Cholera, Fight Club, etc.
being in the top 3 of my favorite books, i'd love to see The Alchemist made into a movie. and they already made the movie for Tuesdays with Morrie, but it'd be interesting to see if they could update it (with Al Pacino as Morrie lol).
